On January 27th, the Rochester Knighthawks acquisition of steady defenseman Rory Glaves from Edmonton in exchange for longtime scorer Scott Evans dominated the headlines, and rightfully so. Hidden in the stories of the trade were mentions of another key move by the Knighthawks in the signing of another veteran defenseman, Scott Campbell.
Campbell, 29, was signed as a free agent after playing four games with the Boston Blazers. It was an emotional two days for the seven-year pro after getting released by the Blazers. But just like the game of lacrosse, things can change in a hurry. It took just four days for Campbell to hook up with another team.
